Most classic mannequins are made of fiberglass, plaster or plastics that
don't allow any bending or positioning. The flexible models allow a whole
new dimension for your clothing displays. Articulated mannequins are great
for posing in motion, on a bicycle or jet ski, or in a sporting pose. Adding
a poseable mannequin to a grouping can spice up a display considerably.
Flexible mannequins are usually a foam body over a wire armature. These "bendies" come in all sizes from baby to toddler, to child and adult male and female bendy mannequins. There are also many mannequins that come with jointed arms and/or legs, while the rest of their bodies are the standard static fiberglass. Some look realistic; others leave metal joints in the open and need to be covered with clothing; still others are life-size models of the jointed wooden artists figures.
